We regret to share that we will not be holding Safety Town this summer (2021), due to COVID-19. While we will be unable to engage with our youth in person, we still want to provide families with helpful age-appropriate resources from our School Resource Officers. The links below offer some great safety lessons for young children. We have a supply of coloring books that accompany the 9-1-1 and Gun Safety lessons; to order, contact: sheriffinfo@co.delaware.oh.us.
For general Safety Town inquiries, please contact: mscalley@co.delaware.oh.us.

Safety Town is a program of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office and is for children going into kindergarten or first grade who reside in Delaware County.

Age appropriate curriculum covers topics such as: strangers, drugs, bicycle safety, animal safety, car seats, water safety (swimming/boating), and much more. The program is run by our School Resource Officers and Community Relations Department. Additional subject matter experts also help teach the children, including wildlife professionals, railroad experts, and car seat technicians.

Eight sessions are offered every summer. Each session is 5 days long, 3 hours/day. There is a $25 participation fee, and limited scholarships are available. Future session dates, times, and locations will be posted on this page once they are determined.
