Safety Town is a program of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office and is for children going into kindergarten or first grade who reside in Delaware County.
Age appropriate curriculum covers topics such as: strangers, drugs, bicycle safety, animal safety, car seats, water safety (swimming/boating), and much more. The program is run by our School Resource Officers and Community Relations Department. Additional subject matter experts also help teach the children, including wildlife professionals, railroad experts, and car seat technicians.
Eight sessions are offered every summer. Each session runs Monday through Friday (5 days) and is 2 1/2 hours long per day. There is a $25 participation fee, and limited scholarships are available.
