Stay Safe On Your Vacation

Traveling can be exciting! …until it isn’t. Don’t get caught unprepared with these few steps:

  • Do your research about where you are going. Not just what you want to see, but also safety concerns. Have information on local law enforcement in case you need it.
  • Make copies of important documents like passports, driver’s licenses, or other forms of identification and save them online!
  • Keep your friends and family updated on your journey, BUT, don’t post pictures until you are back home. This way you don’t advertise to would-be thieves that you aren’t home.
  • Be wary of public Wi-Fi and other ways you could come in contact with scammers.

Fireworks

Remember to keep safety in mind when using fireworks.

Never let children play with or ignite fireworks. Keep a bucket of water or a garden hose handy in case of fire or other mishap. Over 10,200 people were treated in ERs for fireworks injuries in 2022 — don’t be a statistic!
