- Hourly Rate: $26.83 (up to $68,660 by year 5)

Job Overview
As a Corrections Officer, you are responsible for maintaining safety, order, and accountability within the Delaware County Jail. You’ll supervise residents, enforce rules, and respond to situations as they arise — all while working as part of a structured team environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- High-school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Ohio driver’s license
- Clean criminal record
Training & Certifications
- We train!
- Once hired, individuals will be required to complete our Corrections Training Academy which covers training in self-defense and use of protect equipment, as well as certification in First Aid and CPR.
Job Duties
- Monitor housing units and maintain order
- Interact directly with inmates throughout your shift
- Conduct security checks and enforce rules
- Respond to incidents and emergencies
- Work as part of a structured, team-focused team
What to Expect
The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office runs a 286-bed jail facility, which is operated by Corrections Officers. A career in Corrections offers opportunities to grow—either within the jail or throughout the Sheriff’s Office.
This role involves structured, hands-on work that follows established procedures—but no two days are exactly the same. You’ll need to stay alert, think clearly under pressure, and act quickly when situations escalate.
