Due to COVID-19, we regret that this summer’s 2020 Safety Town has been CANCELLED. Until we get through the pandemic, we will not be making any decisions as to Safety Town 2021. We greatly appreciate your understanding during this unique and difficult time. In the meantime, here are links to a few of our Safety Town Lesson Plans/Presentations for parents or caregivers to use with their young children. If you have questions: kgay@co.delaware.oh.us.

Safety Town is a program of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office and is for children going into kindergarten or first grade who reside in Delaware County.

Age appropriate curriculum covers topics such as: strangers, drugs, bicycle safety, animal safety, car seats, water safety (swimming/boating), and much more. The program is run by our School Resource Officers and Community Relations Department. Additional subject matter experts also help teach the children, including wildlife professionals, railroad experts, and car seat technicians.

Eight sessions are offered every summer. Each session is 5 days long, 3 hours/day. There is a $25 participation fee, and limited scholarships are available. Future session dates, times, and locations will be posted on this page once they are determined.
